In this book, rusted, dented and discarded bottle caps find a second life as miniature canvases for BOTTLE CATS. Repurposed instead of recycled, these hand-painted scraps of metal come to life with tiny cat-centric imaginations. As we painted, rust patterns inspired new faces, cracks became whiskers and dents suggested eyes. Just as no two cats are alike in the living world, the cats prowling the pages of this book are unique, peculiar and full of life.

William Painter's crowning achievement was his invention of the bottle cap in 1892. Today Billions of caps are discarded each year and most end up in the environment or landfill. This doesn't have to be the case. Simply collect your caps in an empty metal soup can, crush it closed and put it out with your recycle. Or, better yet, reuse them as a medium for sculpture, mosaics or as tiny, unique canvases for your next masterpiece.
